Step Behind the Scenes
For London Craft Week 2026, Cox London is offering an opportunity for artists, designers, students and craftspeople to explore a working atelier in action, and discover the world of contemporary making through ancient crafts.
The Cox London atelier in North London is home to more than 65 artisans and apprentices. Each piece begins with a spark of inspiration and progresses through highly skilled, hands-on processes – from welding and iron forging to patination and the ancient art of lost-wax bronze casting.
During the visit guests will witness bronze being poured, metal heated and shaped and surfaces brought to life in patination. Every hammer strike, twist of iron and brushstroke carries a purpose. Christopher and Nicola Cox will welcome guests into their private innovation studio, sharing the atelier’s ethos, including the commitment to preserving heritage crafts by training the next generation of makers. The tour will then continue through the workshops, offering an insider’s view of the collaboration, skill and care behind each work, from concept to completion.

Dreamlike Installation of New Works at the Cox London gallery
In addition to the tours, Cox London's gallery window will be transformed into an otherworldly and transporting installation. Drawn from Hinterlands, Cox London's new collection for 2026 celebrates the bucolic idealism and ceaseless progress of nature in steel, iron and bronze – all fabricated and patinated in the atelier.
The gallery installation offers the first chance to see these new works in public, inviting passersby to discover the Hinterlands for themselves.
