The studio, founded by Christopher and Nicola Cox both with a background in sculpture, reflects their tastes and inspirations which range from 20th century sculptors all the way back to the Bronze Age. They guide the design and production of every piece, leading an in-house team of specialist artisans.

Design Cost Estimator

Role: Design Cost Estimator

The Job

We are recruiting a Design Cost Estimator to join our Design Team responsible for the costing of materials and processes for the manufacturing of Cox London Designs. Each member of this team is expected to be adaptable and inventive, learning and developing the variety of processes and finishes as per the Cox London house style.

Reporting to the Senior Design Estimator, you will be expected to cost engineer company products to the required standards maintaining excellent quality while providing the best costings and efficiency for product manufacturing.  A comprehensive understanding of materials and processes is essential alongside being able to interpret production drawings.  You will need to have a good rapport with all stakeholders in the business both in-house, and externally with suppliers to maintain and develop good working relationships.  You will have an eye for optimum costings and be able to form an efficient database administration.

We are looking for a reliable hardworking person with initiative and high standards, a professional outlook and attention to detail.  The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain our quality service provided to customers by upholding company standards, values and behaviours.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Senior Design Estimator and the Design Team
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • Meeting with production to discuss material and process
  • Cost Data Base Management
  • Regular price checking and sourcing of suppliers
  • Raising quotations for Sales
  • Analysis of post production results
  • Analysis of current product pricing
  • Ensure all relevant and essential information pertaining to quotations are passed on to production

Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications

  • Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • BA(Hons) Product Design, Architecture or comparable
  • 5 years experience in a similar role (desirable)

Sales Manager

The Job

We are recruiting for a Sales Manager who is polished and professional, enthusiastic, collaborative and approachable. They need to be well informed regarding high end interiors markets and able to provide an outstanding service to our clients, exceeding their expectations. The candidate should have a strong background in high end sales environments such as contemporary art and design, furniture and lighting.

Our clients are looking for quality, individuality and efficiency, delivered via clear, knowledgeable and beautiful presentations of simplicity and elegance. The position is based in London between our design studio in North London and the Belgravia showroom in the heart of the sought-after Pimlico Road Design District. You would be working closely with the creative team and the production team to produce quality pieces with artistic merit. We are looking for ambassadors for our company and what we do with opportunities for involvement in marketing strategies and campaigns. Primary responsibilities include converting opportunities to secure orders, constantly looking for new business, meeting with clients in person or virtually, hosting tours of our unique workshops and studio in conjunction with supporting the gallery showroom opening hours. The key aim of this role is to exceed sales targets build lifetime clients for repeat orders, win new business and promote the value of the company’s designs. 

Duties and Responsibilities Include 

Generate and convert sales opportunities to meet sales targets
Negotiate with customers and build positive relationships
Produce and present client proposals for standard, custom or bespoke items in printable and/or filmed presentations
Follow up on sales opportunities, WIP and post-sale deliveries
Book and host client tours of the Cox showroom, studio and workshops in central London
Look for new opportunities for repeat business
Maintain company data base following all checklists and processes
Produce weekly sales reports

Knowledge and Experience (desirable)

Client facing sales experience preferably 5 years+
Knowledge and experience within the interior design and or arts sector
Experience in generating new business leads
Experience in account management
Demonstrable high conversion ratio of opportunities to orders
Experience in selling products with a price range of £5,000 to £100,000
Experience of meeting sales targets in excess of £1M
Photoshop and Microsoft; CRM Software ideally Salesforce

Qualifications (desirable)
BA, MA, BSc or MBA
