Inspired by naturalistic grottoes of Renaissance Italy and in particular the fantastical Buontalenti Grotto in The Boboli Gardens, Florence (1557-1587). The rusticated sculptural form is cast in Herculite, a hard and durable plaster polymer. By day the undulating surface casts and captures shadow and by night the white surface harnesses the warmth of the light source above.
