The Role

As the Wiring Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the production process within the Cox London workshops, specialising in wiring operations. This hands-on role involves learning, developing, and perfecting various wiring techniques while ensuring that all work meets the company’s high-quality standards. You will handle technical queries related to your field, maintain accurate records using company software systems (Hibob and Emax), and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice, learn, develop, and perfect wiring processes within Cox London workshops, specifically within the Wiring Team.
  • Handle technical queries in your specialism, ensuring quality control meets company standards.
  • Assemble and wire electrical components.
  • Inspect wiring assemblies to ensure they meet industry standards.
  • Adhere to electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Follow work instructions and electrical layouts to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate and keep records within the company HR and production software systems: Hibob and EMAX.
  • Employ safe working practices during equipment operation, notify the need for repairs, and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment, upholding company H&S policies.
  • Show respect for company property, materials, and consumables, ensuring waste is minimized and shortages are reported.
  • Contribute to a happy, efficient, and cooperative production team, fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between teams, departments, and colleagues.
  • Attend technical and safety training sessions.
  • Assist with on-site and off-site installations.
  • Understand project deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Provide feedback on design or process improvements.
  • Report any issues or potential improvements to supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively to achieve project goals.

Knowledge and Experience (desirable)

  • Experienced working with cable assemblies, connections, soldering and crimping.
  • Knowledge of electrical principles, and safety procedures relating to the use of electricity.

Qualifications

  • Technical Training or relevant experience in electrical/ electronic based fields.
