Craft Champions

We are proud to announce that Cox London has once again received the Princess Royal Training Award 2026 from HRH The Princess Royal and City and Guilds Foundation.

“Now is the moment to actively support skills and creativity, to invest in making, learning and cultural exchange. When we value skills and creativity, we protect our shared humanity and strengthen society itself.”

- Nicola Cox

The Princess Royal Training Award 2026 from HRH The Princess Royal and City and Guilds Foundation, was launched in 2016 to celebrate organisations which saw the value of and benefits of investing in learning.

Each year the awards are presented to companies that have created outstanding training and skills development programmes which have had an exceptional impact, and this year only 56 programmes in the UK have been given this honour and recognition, including Cox London.

This award is a direct reflection of our commitment to developing talent, supporting apprenticeships and creating a culture of learning across Cox London.

Cox London fosters a nurturing environment that allows its craftspeople to understand how capable they are. In some areas, extensive training in technical skills means that artisans can develop and advance quickly and eventually have the confidence to pass on their knowledge of traditional and ancient crafts to new team members.

Cox London's ongoing mission is to attract like-minded artists whom we can mentor, nurture, and help grow while preserving the art of curiosity and heritage skills for the future. The distinct quality of artistry and craftsmanship we achieve is the result of a diverse team of these highly experienced artists, engineers, designers, and finishing experts working together with purpose.

In addition to the work we do at Cox London, we support and work with several British craft charities with the same mission.

Heritage Crafts

Heritage Crafts is the national charity for traditional heritage crafts. Working in partnership with government and key agencies, they provide a focus for craftspeople, groups, societies and guilds, as well as individuals who care about the loss of traditional crafts skills, working towards a healthy and sustainable framework for the future.

With a mission to teach and educate others on ancient crafts, they are founders of the Red List, a list of endangered crafts that only a few still practice today, raising awareness of skills that need to be protected. Cox London aims to preserve these crafts, including fabric flower making, following the techniques and skills of a traditional milliner.

The Creative Dimensions Trust

The Creative Dimensions Trust is a unique charity dedicated to helping talented young people develop practical creative and craft skills through fully funded workshops, work experience, and mentoring opportunities. What makes the charity special is its focus on hands-on learning, giving young students, especially in lower socio-economic areas, the chance to work with industry professionals in areas such as design and craftsmanship.

In April 2026, we opened the doors to our North London atelier and welcomed in a group of students to take part in a series of workshops, learning metalwork craft skills by creating their own bespoke miniature Floral Display piece. Taught by our skilled artisans, they learned every process, from fabrication through to patination.
